Day 1: Ouarzazate – Draa Valley – Mhamid – Erg Chegaga

Departure at 08:00 in the morning from your hotel in Ouarzazate. Our journey will take us through the beautiful Draa Valley towards Zagora, where we will drive partly on off road tracks. We stop on the way to visit the underground Kasbah, the Koran library and a pottery of historical Tamegroute before reaching Mhamid where we will enjoy our lunch. Here you will change from the car to the back of a camel and enjoy an unforgettable ride into the Sahara Desert.

Afterwards we will continue by 4×4 to explore the wonderful landscape passing by at a Sacred Oasis and reaching the immense sand dunes of Erg Chegaga. Overnight including half board at the peaceful Sahara Service Standard Camp, Erg Chegaga.

Day 2: Erg Chegaga – Iriqui Lake – Taznakht – Ouarzazate

Early morning enjoy the sunrise up the sand dunes followed by a hearty breakfast at the camp. We will leave our camp in our 4×4 jeep via the old Paris-Dakar road, cross the Iriqui Lake and finally reach Foum Zguid. Lunch will be served in the Berber village of Taznakht.

Afterwards we will continue to Ait Benhaddou where we will visit the 16th century UNESCO site. Ait Benhaddou is one of the best preserved and most spectacular Kasbahs in Morocco. Ait Benhaddou, a famous site for Hollywood films, was used for the blockbuster Movie of Gladiator. We will be back in Ouarzazate by around 5.00pm where your driver will drop you off at your accommodation.
